Bandos and Baros Meet Again in Resort League 2026 North Male Zone Final

The Resort League 2026 North Male Zone reaches its conclusion on 3rd October 2026, with Bandos Maldives and Baros Maldives meeting in the Final at 16:00 at Bandos Maldives.

The fixture brings back a familiar rivalry. The two teams last met in the 2024 North Male Zone Final, when Bandos defeated Baros to lift the title. Two years later, they return to the same stage with another championship on the line.

For hosts Bandos, victory would extend their record as the most successful team in North Male Zone history. For 2022 champions Baros, the Final presents an opportunity to reclaim the title they last held four years ago.

Bandos Return to the Final on Home Ground

Bandos enter the Final after overcoming Sangeli 3–2 in a closely contested Semi-Final.

Hassan Muaan opened the scoring before Sangeli equalised in the second half. #7 Ahmed Shamaal quickly restored Bandos' advantage, with Ahmed Reehaan adding a third before Sangeli pulled another goal back late in the match. Shamaal was named Man of the Match.

The result keeps Bandos in contention for a sixth North Male Zone title. Their first four championships came consecutively between 2013 and 2016, before they returned to the top in 2024.

This time, they have reached the deciding match while hosting the North Male Zone for the first time.

Baros Make Their Way Back

Baros booked their place with a commanding 4–1 Semi-Final victory over Patina Maldives, Fari Islands.

Mohamed Sahaau Ali struck twice in the first half, while Ibrahim Saeed also scored twice as Baros built a four-goal advantage. Patina pulled one back later in the match, but Baros comfortably saw out the result. Sahaau Ali was named Man of the Match.

Their run through the knockout stage has also included a tight 1–0 Quarter-Final win over Joy Island, following an unbeaten group stage in which Baros won all three of their matches.

Now, the 2022 champions are back on the stage where they fell short against Bandos in 2024.

More Than the North Male Zone Title at Stake

The significance of the Final extends beyond the trophy.

The winner will qualify for the Resort Super League 2026, where the North Male Zone champions will face South Male Zone champions Sun Siyam Olhuveli.

For Bandos, the opportunity is there to add a sixth title to an already remarkable North Male Zone record. For Baros, it is a chance to return to the top and reverse the outcome of their last Final meeting with the hosts.
