Hard Rock and Olhuveli Set for Resort League 2026 South Male Zone Final

The Resort League 2026 South Male Zone reaches its decisive stage on 3 September 2026, as Hard Rock Hotel Maldives take on host team Sun Siyam Olhuveli in the final.

The championship match is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, bringing together two teams whose journeys to the final have taken very different paths.

For Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, this will be a landmark occasion as the team has reached the South Male Zone Final for the first time in its history. Hard Rock produced a strong group-stage campaign to finish top of Group B, earning direct qualification to the quarter-finals.

Their impressive run continued through the knockout stage before a semi-final victory over OZEN LIFE MAADHOO secured their historic first appearance in the South Male Zone Final.

Sun Siyam Olhuveli, meanwhile, have taken the longer route to the title match. The hosts finished bottom of Group A, meaning they had to go through the playoff round to keep their campaign alive.

Under the tournament format, the second and third-placed teams from each group enter the playoffs, with the winners progressing to the quarter-finals. Olhuveli successfully navigated that additional challenge before continuing their run through the knockout stages.

They went on to defeat OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI in the quarter-final before overcoming JW Marriott Maldives in the semi-final, completing an impressive turnaround from the bottom of their group to a place in the final.

Olhuveli are no strangers to the title match. They were crowned South Male Zone champions in 2024, while their history in the final also stretches back to 2016, when they narrowly lost 3-2 to Bolifushi.

The final therefore brings together two contrasting campaigns. Hard Rock arrive after topping their group and reaching the final for the first time, while Olhuveli have fought their way from the playoff round to earn another opportunity to lift the South Male Zone title.

With the tournament that kicked off on 20 August now down to its final two teams, all attention turns to Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and Sun Siyam Olhuveli as they battle for the Resort League 2026 South Male Zone title on 3 September at 16:00.
