Four Group Winners Secure Quarter Final Places in Resort League 2026 South Male Zone

Velassaru, Hard Rock, The Marina and Bolifushi have secured direct qualification to the Quarter Finals of Resort League 2026 South Male Zone after finishing top of their respective groups.

The group stage at Sun Siyam Olhuveli has concluded, with the four group winners becoming the first teams to book their places in the Quarter Finals. The remaining eight teams will now head into the playoffs, where four winners will complete the Quarter Final lineup.

Velassaru finished top of Group A to secure their place in the last eight. Their group-stage campaign included a draw against hosts Sun Siyam Olhuveli before producing an impressive comeback against defending champions Waldorf Astoria, overturning a two-goal deficit to win 4–2.

In Group B, Hard Rock secured top spot and direct passage to the Quarter Finals. After sharing the points with JW Marriott in a 2–2 draw, Hard Rock delivered a five-goal performance against SAii Lagoon to finish their group campaign strongly.

The Marina emerged as the Group C winners following one of the closest battles of the group stage. The Marina and Maadhoo both finished unbeaten with four points and were level on goal difference, goals scored and goals conceded. With the teams still inseparable, disciplinary points ultimately placed The Marina at the top of the group and directly into the Quarter Finals.

Group D saw Bolifushi finish unbeaten to secure the fourth direct Quarter Final place. A 3–2 victory over Anantara Dhigu followed by a 1–1 draw against SO/ Maldives gave Bolifushi four points and enough to finish at the top of the group.

With Velassaru, Hard Rock, The Marina and Bolifushi safely through, attention now turns to the playoffs.

The teams finishing second and third in each group will compete in four playoff matches, with the winner of each match advancing to the Quarter Finals. Those four winners will take the remaining four places alongside the four group winners, completing the eight-team Quarter Final lineup.

With direct qualification secured for the group winners, the next stage will decide who joins them as the race for the Resort League 2026 South Male Zone title continues at Sun Siyam Olhuveli.
