Bandos Maldives to Host Resort League North Male Zone for the First Time

The Resort League 2026 North Male Zone is set to kick off on 10 September 2026, with Bandos Maldives confirmed as the host venue for the first time in the zone's history.

While this will mark Bandos Maldives' first time hosting the Resort League North Male Zone, the resort already has experience hosting matches in the Resort Super League. Bandos previously hosted three Resort Super League matches, including Bandos' home fixture against Sun Siyam Olhuveli, as well as a semi-final and the final.

Bandos Maldives also brings valuable sporting event experience through its history of hosting the prominent Inter Resort Volleyball Tournament. Combined with its previous Resort Super League hosting experience, the resort enters its first North Male Zone with a strong foundation to deliver a well-organized Resort League.

The move to Bandos adds a new chapter to the history of the North Male Zone, which has been hosted by some of the area's leading resorts since its introduction.

The first Resort League North Male Zone was hosted by Gili Lankanfushi in 2013. A year later, the 2014 edition was jointly hosted by One&Only Reethi Rah and Gili Lankanfushi.

One&Only Reethi Rah then became the regular home of the North Male Zone, hosting subsequent editions over the years. In 2019, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa joined One&Only Reethi Rah as co-host.

The 2026 edition will now see the North Male Zone move to Bandos Maldives, bringing a fresh setting to a zone with more than a decade of Resort League history.

With preparations now turning towards September, Resort League 2026 North Male Zone will kick off at Bandos Maldives on 10 September, beginning a new chapter for one of Resort League's longest-running zones.
