History Repeats as Velaa and Soneva Jani Meet Again in Noonu Final

History is set to repeat in Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone as Velaa Private Island Maldives and Soneva Jani prepare to face each other in the final, recreating the same championship fixture that decided the inaugural Noonu Zone title in 2022.

The Resort League 2026 Noonu Zone Final is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 on 19 July at Siyam World Maldives, where one of the two teams will once again lift the Noonu Zone trophy.

When the two sides met in the 2022 final, Soneva Jani emerged victorious with a convincing 4–1 win to become the first Resort League Noonu Zone champions.

The standout performer of that final was Soneva Jani's Mohamed Naajih, who was named Man of the Match after an impressive display. However, Naajih is no longer part of the Soneva Jani squad.

Both teams have enjoyed impressive campaigns to reach this year's final and will now renew one of Noonu Zone's growing rivalries with another championship on the line. During the group stage of this year's league, Soneva Jani suffered a 5–0 defeat to Velaa Private Island Maldives, giving Velaa a psychological advantage heading into the final. However, finals often produce different outcomes, and Soneva Jani will be determined to overturn that result when it matters most.

For Velaa Private Island Maldives, the final presents an opportunity to rewrite history by avenging their 2022 defeat and lifting their first Noonu Zone title. Soneva Jani, meanwhile, will be aiming to repeat their success from four years ago and add another championship to their Resort League record.

With familiar opponents, a championship at stake, and memories of the 2022 final still fresh, all eyes will be on the Noonu Zone Final as Velaa Private Island Maldives and Soneva Jani battle for the 2026 title on 19 July.
