The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort crowned Resort League 2026 Dhaalu Zone Champions

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort are the champions of Resort League 2026 Dhaalu Zone after defeating Angsana Velavaru 3–2 in a thrilling final to lift the title.

The victory completes a remarkable turnaround for Vommuli, who fell short in last year’s final after suffering a 6–2 defeat against Velavaru in the Resort League 2025 Dhaalu Zone final.

Vommuli’s road to the title began in the group stage where they secured two wins from three matches to finish at the top of the standings and qualify directly to the final under the tournament format.

Their campaign started with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Niyama before facing Velavaru in a match that ended in a 4–2 defeat. Needing a strong response, Vommuli delivered in their final group match with an impressive 5–2 win over Baglioni to seal top position and book their place in the final.

Velavaru booked their place in the final after winning the playoff match, with the tournament format requiring the teams finishing second and third to compete for the remaining final place.

With the memories of the previous year’s defeat still fresh, Vommuli produced a determined performance and edged a closely contested encounter 3–2 to finally lift the Dhaalu Zone trophy.

The title marks a historic milestone for The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort as the team secures qualification to Resort Super League for the first time in its history.

After falling short in 2025, Vommuli returned stronger, completed their comeback story, and now stand as the champions of Resort League 2026 Dhaalu Zone.
