Niyama Private Islands Maldives target strong Resort League 2026 campaign

Niyama Private Islands Maldives have stepped up preparations for Resort League 2026, with the team focused on building momentum ahead of the Dhaalu Zone kickoff.
With Dhaalu Zone titles in 2017, 2019 and 2023, Niyama Private Islands Maldives have established themselves as one of the leading teams in the region. Their three championships place them level with Kandima Maldives as the most successful teams in Dhaalu Zone history.
Speaking to Resort League, Niyama Private Islands Maldives Financial Controller and Team Manager Ibrahim Rafyf said preparations have been progressing well since training sessions officially began on 10 May. Having managed the team since 2019, Rafyf has been part of Niyama's successful journey in the Dhaalu Zone, including their championship winning campaigns in 2019 and 2023.

"Preparations for Resort League 2026 are going well. We officially started our training sessions on 10th May, and the team has been showing good commitment and focus during practice. The players are working hard together to be fully prepared for the league," he said.
Rafyf also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the squad as the team looks forward to another season of Resort League action.
"The team spirit is very good ahead of the kickoff. The players are motivated, united, and ready to give their best on the field. Everyone is looking forward to the league and working together as one team," he added.
Niyama Private Islands Maldives have once again set their sights on challenging for top honours in the Dhaalu Zone.
"Our expectation for this season is to compete strongly and aim for the championship. We also hope to continue building our reputation as one of the strongest teams in the Dhaalu Zone. We believe the hard work and teamwork will help us achieve good results," he said.
Regarding the squad, Rafyf confirmed that there have been only minor changes ahead of the new season.
"There have not been many major changes to the squad this season. We have added one or two new players who will strengthen the team and bring fresh energy to the group," he explained.

Before the start of the league, Rafyf also expressed his appreciation to the resort's management and staff for their continued support.
"We would like to thank the management and all staff for their continuous support and encouragement. The support from everyone means a lot to the team and gives extra motivation to the players. We hope everyone will continue supporting us throughout the league, and we will do our best to make the resort proud," he said.
Niyama Private Islands Maldives will be among the teams competing in the Resort League 2026 Dhaalu Zone, which kicks off on 1 June at Angsana Velavaru.
